Howea forsteriana, the Kentia palm is a species of flowering plant in the palm family, Arecaceae. It is a relatively slow-growing palm, eventually growing up to 10 m (33 ft) tall by 6 m (20 ft) wide. Its fronds can reach 3 m (10 ft) long
The Kentia palm originated on Lord Howe Island a tiny piece of land off the east coast of Australia. The island gives the palm its botanical name, Howea forsteriana
Kentia palms prefer indirect sunlight and avoid exposing to full sun as this will likely scorch the leaves. These plants can tolerate low light conditions.
These are tropical plants so prefer warmer temperatures and high humidity. However the hardiness of the Kentia palm means it can tolerate lower temperatures too.
Water weekly in the summer allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Yellowing leaves indicate overwatering or root rot. Brown tips indicate drying out.

“Excellent plants that arrived perfectly packaged. Great communication too! There was an unavailable plant that I was refunded for, and given the option to have replacement for another. I was skeptical ordering plants online, but it made the whole experience very enjoyable. I will be recommending and using again.”

“I have bought from Perfect Plants before and all was well but this year the courier let them down, when they finally arrived they were still well packaged and moist, Melanie at Perfect Plants did all she could to sort things out as the courier claimed he had broken down! Otherwise, I would have given them 5 stars.”
