Monstera are evergreen plants and prefer indirect sunlight. Too much direct light in warmer months may burn the leaves. If possible try to put the plant outside once a year in direct sunlight to encourage new lush growth
Monstera produce large volumes of aerial roots which can grow out of the pot and get slightly out of control. These can be trimmed when needed. Leaves also respond well to trimming and can be used for propagation.
During the growing season, water every one to two weeks. Water until excess drains through. In the winter water only occasionally. The foilage can be sprayed with a mister with demineralized or rainwater to increase humidity.
Monstera Pertusum is cultivated from cuttings and starts its grow in the final pot often already with notches in the leaf. This is slightly different to Monstera Deliciosa which is cultivated from seed and start its grow with forming very small leaves. The Pertusum is a real climber, therefore needs a lot of support, mostly by using mosspoles. As the plant starts to grow larger than 120cm the first holes will appear in the leave. These leaves are slightly smaller than those of the Monstera Deliciosa.
The reason it has holes in its leaves is that in its natural jungle enviroment where it grows in crevices in trees they allow light to reach its lowest foilage.
