The Staghorn fern is an epiphytic fern, growing on trees, rocks, and other kinds of vertical supports. Each plant bears both fertile and sterile fronds. The fertile fronds are the erect to pendant fronds shaped like stags antlers and the sterile fronds are stalkless kidney shaped foliage that becomes brown and papery as they age.
The ferns non-fertile fronds can grow up to 1 meter wide and the hanging fertile fronds can grow up to 2 metres long in its natural habitat.
This fern likes bright indirect light.
Mist daily
Water the plants from below as the fronds can rot if they get too wet. Let the surface of the compost dry out before watering in winter.
