An architectural house plant with dark red leaves. Dracaena marginata 'Magenta' is an unusual form of the highly popular dragon tree. It is generally an easy-to-keep house plant. This variety has dark leaves which have a lighter red glow. The sap of the plant is often blood-red and this is why they are often called dragon trees.

  • A great filtering plant, this house plant is very good at cleaning formaldehyde and other impurities from the air.
  • Dragon trees need moderate indirect sunlight but they are also suitable for low-light situations, although the foliage might turn slightly pale.
  • Brown spots on the leaves usually indicate the plant is getting too much light.
  • Dragon trees like comfortable room temperatures of between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • A sudden drop in temperature can cause the lower leaves to drop off.
  • Water the plant only when the top 1 inch of soil is dry and then water it thoroughly with room-temperature water.
  • Never allow the base of the pot to sit in a saucer of water.
  • Feed the plant with a liquid house plant fertilizer every two weeks or so in spring and summer and less often during the winter.
  • Twin stem plant sold in a 17cm pot.
  • Total height approximately 75cm, including the pot.
  • Please note that the plant you receive will not be exactly the same as the plant in the photo - every plant is different!
