A rosette forming perennial with winged stalks and yellow, green to red leaves. Each leaf has two hinged lobes with teeth (hair) that traps insects coming into contact with them. They also produce 3-10 white flowers on narrow stalks in spring.
The spacing of the plant’s teeth allow smaller insects to escape the plants deadly jaws as it is too hard work for it to digesting them.

Keep in a tray of rain or distilled water in the spring and summer, but not in the winter when it is dormant. Keep moist all year around. It prefers rain or filter water.
