monstera pertusum 120cm

A giant cheese plant, Monstera pertusum, measuring up to 120cm tall, including the pot

The Swiss cheese plant, variety Monstera pertusum is also known as Philodendron pertusum. Its common names also include the Mexican breadfruit and the window leaf, on account of the fact that you can peep through the holes of the leaves. This particular example is large and luscious! It has a pole support and currently measures up to 120cm, including the pot.

  • This is a house plant that grows well under humid circumstances and, generally, the more humid the environment is, the bigger its leaves become.
  • Is easy to please, however, as it can tolerate dry conditions too.
  • Aerial roots that appear along the stem may be trimmed off. In the wilds of the rainforest, the plant would use these for support.
  • Plenty of light or semi-shade, keep out of strong sunlight.
  • Avoid draughts.
  • Keep the soil moist but do not allow the soil to dry out.
  • However, do not allow the roots to sit in water as this can cause root rot.
  • This plant can be fed with a general house plant fertiliser during the growing season in spring and summer.
  • Please note: the plant you receive will not be the one in the photo, which provides a general idea only.
