Who could fail to be impressed by huge, stately trees? The landscape is graced by many different species of large trees including native oaks, beech, sycamore, hornbeam, poplar, lime, chestnut and many more. Trees perform many essential functions including the take up of water which, in turn, prevents flooding. They also anchor the soil, thus preventing erosion; they regulate temperature; absorb pollution; give out oxygen and provide numerous habitats and improve biodiversity. Not to mention their beauty.
