Deciduous trees are those that lose their leaves in winter. There is a huge range of deciduous trees and something suitable for every size of garden. These are trees that can give superb autumn colour. Some of them produce spring flowers and some also offer berries. Trees perform many vital functions including anchoring the soil; taking up water (which alleviates flooding); providing shade and protection from wind and weather; storing carbon and cleaning the air. They also give off oxygen, improving the air that we breathe and, of course, they provide biodiversity.
