Ctenanthe burle-marxii is also known as the never never plant and it's related to the Maranta and Calatheas. Often called the prayer plant because it partially closes up its leaves at night, in a prayer-like manner. Also known as Stromanthe.
Foliage makes a bold, tropical feature.
Has bright geen leaves with darker highlights and a striking purple underneath.
Relatively easy to look after.
Needs medium light levels, out of direct sunlight.
Water regularly but never allow the plant to sit in saturated compost as this can cause root-rot.
Mist the plant's foliage regularly as it enjoys high humidity.
Native to Central America down through Brazil.
