Lemon Verbena, Aloysia citrodora. This is a lovely herb which has wonderfully aromatic foliage. It has a sweet lemon flavour that can be used in the kitchen. Make it into a tea or dessert or use it for seasoning meat.
This plant is not hardy in the UK. Keep it indoors over winter but it can go in the garden once danger of frost has passed.
In the wild (tropical climates) it will grow into a shrub which is about 2m tall.
Likes full sun.
If planting in the garden for the summer, try placing next to paths where the scent of the foliage will delight all who pass by!
