Kalanchoe thyrsiflora 'Red Lips' isn't something that you see very often. This succulent house plant loves to occupy a sunny position and the colour of the foliage is enhanced in higher light levels.

• The grey-green leaves grow to about 15cm in length and will become tinged in red when exposed to sun.
• Mature plants may produce a spike of fragrant, yellow flowers in spring.
• Water regularly when the compost feels dry.
• Never allow the compost to remain soggy, however, as this can lead to root rot.
• Native to South Africa.
• Protect from frost.
