The Hindu rope plant is a trailing house plant with foliage rather like ropes.

Hoya carnosa 'Compacta' is also known as a wax flower because when it produces flowers during the summer season, they look rather like wax. it is also called the Hindu rope plant because the draping vine-like foliage resembles ropes.

  • The foliage of this Hoya is crowded and the leaves are contorted.
  • Leaves are fleshy and curled, with a lighter colour underneath.
  • The balls of flowers, when in season, are pale pink and they smell of chocolate.
  • Keep in a bright, light position but avoid direct sunlight.
  • Can be treated as a hanging plant.
  • Water regularly but never allow the plant to sit in water.
  • Growing in a 14cm hanging pot.
