This popular hanging and trailing house plant is very easy to look after. Ceropegia linearis subsp. woodii Durban is also known as Chain of Hearts or Hearts on a String because the elegant foliage includes heart-shaped leaves. These are pink on the back and green and silver on the top. The colours are more greatly enhanced if the plant is placed in a position where there is plenty of light.
This plant is a succulent-type which develops unusual tubular flowers in summer.
These can also develop into cylindrical fruits.
Originally comes from South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The trailing stems can eventually reach up to 1m.
This plant can go outdoors during the UK summer but needs protection from frost.
