Ceropegia woodii Durban trailing house plant in an 8cm pot. Chain of Hearts

In stock
ceropegia durban

You might never have seen Ceropegia woodii 'Durban' before, even though you are probably familiar with its relative 'chain of hearts. This is very similar to the straightforward Ceropegia woodii, but the leaves are more pointed and the markings are a little stronger.

This hanging and trailing house plant is relatively easy to look after. Ceropegia linearis subsp. woodii Durban is also known as Chain of Hearts or Hearts on a String because the elegant foliage includes heart-shaped leaves. These are pink on the back and green and silver on the top. The colours are more greatly enhanced if the plant is placed in a position where there is plenty of light.

  • This plant is a succulent-type which develops unusual tubular flowers in summer.
  • These can also develop into cylindrical fruits.
  • Originally comes from South Africa and Zimbabwe.
  • Evergreen.
  • The trailing stems can eventually reach up to 1m or even more.
  • Likes free-draining compost.
  • Water regularly but never allow the roots to remain in soggy compost.
  • Currently growing in an 8cm pot.
  • Please note, there might be some variation between plants and the one you receive is unlikely to look exactly like the plant in the photo.
