Calathea makoyana is a rather appealing foliage house plant that will be happy in a bright, yet shaded room where it brightens up interior decor with great style. Calatheas are house plants loved for their attractive leaves.

  • Likes a warm and moist environment.
  • It is also known as the peacock plant or cathedral windows because of its leaf markings.
  • The leaves are velvety and patterned, being light green with darker green stripes. The undersides can be purple or pink
  • The leaves of this plant stand boldly away from the main stem and these tend to move position during the day in order to catch the light, temperature and humidity.
  • Can produce purple or white flowers that are inconspicuous.
