Laurus nobilis is a well known and much loved, bushy, evergreen tree or shrubs which has glossy, aromatic leaves. It is also known as a bay tree or bay laurel. This plant makes an ideal topiary tree as it tolerates pruning very well.
The aromatic leaves are highly valued and useful in cooking.
This plant will grow into a sizeable tree if left unpruned and can reach heights of up to 12 metres.
Easy to grow.
Can be clipped into topiary shapes. Best clipped using secateurs rather than shears so that leaves remain intact.
